Derickson K. Lawrence for Congress
I believe, together, we can unlock America’s promise. But the truth is these are painful, frightening and unprecedented times, where the facts no longer matter.
This is the moment where we must ask ourselves the question as Americans: Who are we?
Moreover, Washington is not only gridlocked, it’s in chaos. Bottom line: Your voice is not being heard; our congressman is out of touch; and he is not solving the substantive problems of our district. When Washington is not working, we need a congressman with the skill-set to solve the regional problems of the district.
Here are two examples. On our door steps is the dreaded: gentrification. First movers -- who invest all to rebuild and spark new life in neighborhoods -- are usually displaced along side vested homeowners and small businesses that endured during the tough times. And there is the issue of property tax deductibility. I know homeowners are rightfully concerned.
We need both a tactical and strategic plan to address these issues, and a congressman who will proactively prioritize and champion them. So, we can no longer remain complacent. The accountability rests with you— and others of your mindset in the 16th CD.
I am the only candidate with a record of solving substantive problems in the district:
Closing the achievement gap with kids with learning disabilities;
Pursuing alternatives to lower prescription drug prices;
Taking guns off the streets to make our schools and neighborhood safe.
I am not just espousing a platform; I have engaged local and state institutions and local and state leaders in each category to build consensus, create proof of concepts, and deliver results in the district. So I am seeking for your help and support as we race to the finish line: June 26, 2018.
Will you help with one or the other, or both?
1) Will you hold a “"Meet & Greet" on my behalf, in your neighborhood, in the month of June?
2) Will you make a donation to help meet our fundraising goals.
